Belly Button Reshaping Surgery in Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Belly Button Reshaping Surgery

People may seek to have their belly button reshaped for a number of reasons. Sometimes it is the desire to have their “outie” converted to an “innie”, whereas other reasons might be following previous surgery that has resulted in distortion of the belly button. It is important that a careful clinical examination is performed as part of the planning for the procedure to exclude an underlying hernia (umbilical hernia) Most belly button reshaping procedures can be performed under local anaesthetic in the clinic.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

After numbing the area with a careful injection of local anaesthetic, surgery is performed to reshape the belly button according to the individual situation. An outie can be converted to an innie, a wide belly button can be made smaller, and a shallow belly button can be deepened.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Reshaping the belly button can improve confidence and give back the self esteem to enable the wearing of bikinis or sports clothes that expose the mid-riff.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty Surgery Procedure

Surgery to lift the upper eyelids (upper blepharoplasty) is one of the most popular local anaesthetic plastic surgery procedures. It has a quick recovery and the results are very natural, giving a refreshed and brighter appearance to the face. Upper blepharoplasty can be performed as a procedure on its own, but is frequently combined with other procedures, such as surgery to the brow, facelifts, or other plastic surgery operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

The surgery may take between 30-60minutes.

Stitches are used that are removed after 10-14 days and no heavy exercise should be performed during this period. Sometimes it is necessary to “take it easy” for longer if the situation dictates.

For the first two weeks after surgery, no heavy lifting or significant exercise should be undertaken. Slowly building up exercise intensity after that is recommended.

Problems can occur relating to infection or delayed healing – these are more likely in people who smoke.

Bleeding is seldom a significant problem but can occur. In some people, problematic scarring (keloid or hypertrophic) resulting in thickened scars may occur.

Further surgery is sometimes required for the sub-optimal result.
